Iggy Pop (born James Newell “Jim” Osterberg, Jr.; April 21, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor.[1] Though considered an innovator of punk rock,[1] Pop’s music has encompassed a number of s6yles over the years, including pop, metal, jazz and blues.[2] Pop became known as ‘Iggy’ in high school, during which time he served as drummer for local blues band The Iguanas.
